I have been so incredibly fortunate to have worked with some incredible ladies on Collabs over the past few years. The more we did the more I realised how much I appreciated having the opportunity to share my knowledge and provide a platform for the work and designs that each of these highly talented women created. This has to have been one of the most fulfilling ventures we have explored, what can be better than partnering and learning from other other creatives whilst helping them reach their vision.
Our first Collab was with the very talented Abstract Artist, Roxanne Sneedon. I fell in love with the textural aspect of her abstract oil paintings with touches of gold leaf and could see them transformed into scatter cushions. We used a different section of each painting for the front and the back of each scatter allowing the client to really change things up with a simple flip of the cushion. I absolutely loved working with Melissa Williams and taking her Home designs that she had created into fabric for the local market. We were so lucky to work with Mel before she made it big in the Surface Design World and create an incredible relationship that has continued to this day. Mel is a featured designer on Spoonflower and runs online workshops and courses. She is a wealth of information when it comes to the design industry. If you love Mel’s work as much as we do, you can find out more on her website.
The Harvest Collection was a Collab with a friend from my school days, Caron from Flourish with Caron. Caron, an Art Teacher, really took to painting during the 2020 lockdown. Her watercolor paintings were beautiful and Caron was keen to venture into the textile market with homeware, we were just as excited to help her achieve this. This venture took on a life of it’s own and found its way into the hearts and homes of many amazing clients over the course of the collab. It was such a joy to be able to help Caron find her way into this particular market and to now watch her taking it into new collections of her own. Whilst we have now called an end to this collab you can still find the last of the textile products at Unison Store whilst stocks last. You can also find the paper products and other amazing items on the Flourish website.
